Summer vacation is certainly a huge adjustment for children. As soon as school comes to an end, they are suddenly faced with a significant increase of free time.
When this happens it can be easy for them to experience boredom, resulting in way too much phone time.
Keep on reading for our top tips that can help minimize your kid’s screen time this summer.
Set up Regular Play Dates:
Having regular play dates planned is great for kids! It gives them something to look forward to each week and allows them to stay connected with their school friends.
Explore The City:
Visiting the same malls, parks or museums can get repetitive. Don’t be afraid to mix it up by visiting new local attractions. There are also lots of festivals each weekend which can be very entertaining for the whole family.
Get Crafty:
Doing arts and crafts is an amazing activity for children to get creative and even practice mindfulness. Your little ones can easily do crafts solo or with friends and family.
Read:
By regularly reading throughout the summer, your child’s vocabulary, creativity, and spelling will continue to expand. We encourage you to visit your local library!
Game Night:
Playing board games as a family is a great bonding exercise. During game, night encourage your children to turn their phones off until the games have ended.
